About
the dive
section
The Hillarys Yacht Club Dive Section is comprised of families and
individuals who share a love for water based activities and the
conservation of our marine environment. Dive excursions are mostly
conducted on Saturdays with Sundays booked when the Club Boat Balaton
Jack is available. Naturally, all dives are weather dependent.
Balaton Jack boasts enough deck space to accommodate comfortably
up to 20-25 divers for either single or double tank dives. While
the majority of our dives are carried out from Balaton Jack, sites
further a field requires the use of private boats belonging to our
members.
Our local dives incorporate sites ranging from Mindarie in
the north, to Garden Island in the south and of course, across to
Rottnest Island. Annual country visits
include trips to Mandurah, Dunsborough and Coral Bay. Our overseas
holidays to Manado, The Solomon Islands and more recently Vanuatu
have also proven greatly successful. Our bi-monthly calendar which
includes both social and diving activities caters for all age groups
and experience levels.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improve skills
and awareness we offer members the chance to participate in certified
courses through access to private Dive Instructors within the section.
Being a highly sociable group, we like to take advantage
of our great Club facilities by meeting informally over a drink
or two, on the first Thursday of each month at 7.30pm. So come along
and try your skill at catching crayfish or perhaps photography is
your passion. Whatever you do, you will enjoy your experience when
you dive with the Hillarys Yacht Club team.
